Harper Teen has a new program called First Look.  Enroll in the program will have the opportunity to be chosen to recieve advance copies of soon-to-be-released books.

From the First Look website:

“HarperCollins Publishers announces First Look Teen, a program to preview books in a variety of genres, with readers who make a difference – you!

Each month, HarperCollins will offer Advanced Reading Copies (ARCs) of great books by fabulous authors that you will have the opportunity to review. Reviewers are selected at random, but you must enter the program to be eligible. Join First Look Teen now – the sign up will take approximately two minutes. If you are already a member, sign in at right to continue.”

In an earlier episode, we talked about Philip Pullman’s The Golden Compass.

From the Publisher’s Weekly Children’s Bookshelf Newsletter:

“British author Philip Pullman has been given the Freedom of Oxford award, bestowed by the city of Oxford, where he resides. The award, which is honorary, is rarely given, and Pullman joins just five other modern-day recipients. He will receive the award at a ceremony later this month.

I just discovered a website for the His Dark materials trilogy at http://www.randomhouse.com/features/pullman
included on the website is a link to a series of 9 podcasts featuring the 3 P’s: Pullman, Paolini, & Pierce.
